For Immediate Release

Date: 19th September 2024

Harare, Zimbabwe – Stimulus Africa Foundation is proud to announce its selection as the fund manager for the inaugural Swiss Support to Arts Development in Zimbabwe (SSADZA) Programme. Initiated by the Embassy of Switzerland to Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Malawi, this transformative programme will run from 2024 to 2028, aiming to empower creatives and cultural practitioners throughout Zimbabwe with various opportunities including grant funding.

The SSADZA Programme is designed to provide essential support to individuals in the arts and culture sector, focusing on developing new creative works while promoting the sustainability of creatives, creative enterprises, and sector supporting institutions. Participants will receive targeted capacity-building support in financial literacy, project management, and storytelling, equipping them with the skills necessary to effectively manage and share their projects and account for their grant funding. This foundation will enable them to access additional grant funding  and other smart finance options in the future to further enhance their creative ventures as they grow.

“We are excited to lead this initiative and contribute to the growth of Zimbabwe’s vibrant arts and culture sector,” said Rudo Nyangulu-Mungofa of Stimulus Africa. “By equipping creatives with the necessary skills, we can help guide them towards delivering impactful and successful projects that not only enrich our cultural landscape but also enhance their livelihoods.”

The Swiss Embassy Harare’s SSADZA Programme represents a significant investment in the future of Zimbabwe’s arts and cultural community, fostering innovation and creativity while addressing the challenges faced by cultural practitioners in resourcing their projects and gaining visibility as they build their creative enterprises.
